One of the things I was really looking forward to in New Mexico were the artisans. In the past couple years I have grown enamored with all forms of textiles.
There is something really enchanting and unique about American Indian weavings. I couldn't really afford any of the rugs I looked at but it was great just to look and admire the craftsmanship.
Before I went on the trip a colleague of mine lent me this book which I found really interesting. Some day I want to have a guest bedroom just like the one I saw in Kathryn Bently House Tour. Some day.
